About PJ
These are but some of the questions that were constantly being asked of Pam as she traveled with Tony, either on HaCienda, or at functions where he is speaking or auctioneering. Much to the amazement of those who both meet her in person and hear her replies, she is astonishly honest in her answers and they are not always what the questioner expects. For this is one determined lady. Born at Sans Souci on the shores of Sydney's famous Botany Bay, Pam or PJ as she is better known, has had a lifelong love affair with water and seawater especially. Educated at Sydney's Moorefield Girls High School (the same school that Australia's and the worlds first woman singlehanded circumnavigator, Kay Cottee, attended), she has had a variety of careers since her schooldays.
Mother of three children (including one son who has won a Cherub Dinghy World Championship), PJ has been involved in publishing and real estate. In the latter field, she became Sydney's leading female auctioneer conducting over 600 auctions a year for some time. In the move from selling real estate as a salesperson to actually being an auctioneer, PJ had her comfort zone "expanded somewhat" as Tony is wont to say, and this expansion is again graphically shown by her acceptance of the role of First Mate on the sailing vessel HaCienda. To do this she abandoned creature comforts that most women strive to gain and how she has handled this change of circumstance and environment creates much questioning from women friends and associates. Since December 2000, she has been living ashore again following she and Tony's move back into a land life operating the Ray White Rural Rockhamptonand Ray White Stud Stock Qld franchises from Rockhampton,Central Queensland. Here though, the lessons of the past four years learned whilst cruising, have not been lost for HaCienda forms a very important part of their "quality of life" programme and she is used wherever possible, to get back to "the real world" that they hope to rejoin at some future stage. Through the wonder of modern day communications, you can ask Pam any questions that you may have. You could get a surprise or two in the replies! | ||||
